18yrs old Developer Brings back
IOS 4 as an app in iphone
At a time when Apple has already handed builders a beta model of iOS 15, an
18-year-vintage tech fanatic has recreated iOS 4 as an app, almost 10 years
after it debuted on iPhone 3G. Zane, who, in his Twitter bio says
he "loves to invent," on June nine tweeted that the OldOS app can deliver iOS
four that has been "beautifully rebuilt in SwiftUI," Apple's developer programme.
Zane said the app changed into designed "to be as close to pixel-best as feasible
," including that it was "absolutely purposeful" or even usable as a second
operating device. The young techie delivered: "completely open supply for
all to examine, adjust, and build on."
Sharing a small video of the iOS 4 app on Twitter, Zane wrote, “Introducing OldOS —
iOS 4 beautifully rebuilt in SwiftUI.” He says that the app has been “designed to be
as close to pixel-perfect as possible. Zane also said that the app is fully functional and
can even be used as a second OS. “Fully open source for all to learn, modify, and build on,
” he said. The app brings back the “slide to unlock” bar along with the iconic home button
that is no longer seen in iPhones. Needless to say, the app made all the Apple fans on Twitter,
nostalgic. In fact, nostalgia is what prompted Zane to create an app like this.
